Can you believe Fall is already here? Fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons. I love watching the leaves turn from green to red, orange, and yellow. There is just something so soothing about Fall that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

We welcome Fall with open arms. We have a lot of fun new soaps and body products that to introduce this season along with some of our old favorites that are returning.

Orange Clove

Citrus Bliss:

The luscious and refreshing aroma of sweet and tangy citrus. Top notes of green, citrus, kumquat, with light notes of sweet strawberry, and pineapple.

This bar is layers of orange with green swirls and white soap strips incorporated through out. The top is covered with white and green ribbons, orange soap spheres, and dusted with mica powder.

Pineapple Cilantro:

This glorious sweet fragrance is toned down beautifully by the addition of an unlikely herb: cilantro. Ripe pineapple juices are complemented with coconut shavings, bursting orange notes and sparkling cilantro. Warm vanilla and mists of musk complete this zesty aroma!

This bar has creamy layers of yellow and green with calendula petals mixed through out for light exfoliation. The top is sprinkled with more lovely calendula petals, yellow soap chunks, yellow/green soap swirls, and dusted with green soap shreds.

Guava Fig: This is a deliciously refreshing scent. A wonderful blend of tart Apple, Cassis, Sweet Pear, Fig, and tangy Guava.
This bar is layers of yellow, green, purple, pink, and lavender with a light sprinkling of crushed rose petals. The top is layered with soap spheres, purple swirls and colored cubes of soap and lightly sprinkled rose petals.

This scent is all about happiness and light. It contains a lot of fresh orange notes, with additional notes of Apple, Grapefruit, Peach and Strawberry with just a touch of Loganberry. Wash with Rise and Shine anytime you want to cheer yourself up!

This bar is cream with splashes of mauve, custard yellow and sprinkled with calendula petals. The top is sprinkled with mauve and yellow chunks of soap.

Buttercream Snickerdoodle:

This is a sweet and yummy scent that contains rich caramel and cream notes. What makes this soap scent stand out is the hint of Nutmeg and Praline which adds unique notes not normally found in a Snickerdoodle. Buttercream and all the goodness of the cookie is rounded out with rich base notes of Cocoa and Vanilla.

This bar is beige with mauve, purple, and blue chunks of soap through out. The top of the soap is sprinkled with swirls of pink and blue soap and circles covered with jojoba beads.

Fun Summer Fruit Facial Recipes

Here are some fun summer fruit facials that you can make at home with under 5 ingredients. They will leave your skin looking smooth and radiant.

Fresh Strawberry Facial:

Strawberries make an excellent skin softening facial mask. Strawberries contain salicylic acid, which rids the skin of dead cells, allowing it to absorb moisture more efficiently, as well as help heal blemishes.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup fresh strawberries

1 tablespoon milk or plain yogurt

1 tablespoon cornstarch

Blend all the ingredients in the food processor to make a smooth paste. Spread mask over your face and neck and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat skin dry. You can refrigerate any leftover mask. Will last up to a week.

Papaya Facial:

The papaya's natural fruit acids and enzymes will remove dead skin cells which will leave your skin looking younger and smoother. Papaya contains a natural enzyme called papain. The greener the papaya the higher the enzyme content.

Caution: Do not leave mask on your face for more than 5 minutes and rinse well because if left on to long it can become drying.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons mashed papaya

1 teaspoon aloe vera gel

Mix ingredients together and apply to face and neck. Let sit for 5 minutes and rinse with cool water and moisturize well.

Hi everyone. Sorry it has been so long since my last blod update. Vacation really throws you off balance. It is so hard to catch up after being gone for only a week and a half. Here are the great new products that I have added to my SV.Soaps and Etsy site.

Tropical Vacation Soap:
A mix of mango, coconut and pineapple rolled into one sweet scent. Men and women both go crazy for this scent. It's one you won't want to miss!This bar has 2 layers. The bottom layer is a lovely peach color with a sprinkle of apricot meal for exfoliation. The top layer is white with chunks of yellow and orange soap. The very top has shreds of white, yellow, and peach soap.

Luxurious Whipped Body Butters:

The Benefits of Soy Candles

We have just added soy candles to our product line. I really like the way they turned out. I think customers are going to go crazy for them.

Our candles are made from 100% soy. They come in an adorable apothacary jar.

There are many benefits to burning soy candles as opposed to parafin based candles. Soy candles are made from natural oils from soybean plants so they burn cleaner and emit significantly less soot. That means more enjoyment and healthier air quality for you and your family.
One major distinction between waxes is where they were derived (what they are made of). Traditionally, candle waxes have mostly been paraffin based. Soy based waxes have grown in popularity in recent years due to their improvements in quality, as compared to earlier soy waxes. The difference between Commercial Soap and Handmade Soap

Commercial soap is usually manufactured using synthetic detergents and chemicals that can strip away the skin's protective oils. One of the most beneficial by-products of the soap making process is the production of glycerin, a humectant that draws moisture to the skin. Large amounts of glycerin is removed in the commercial production process and used to make other beauty products. Only a small quantity of glycerin remains in commercially produced soaps. Commercially produced soaps are made with artificial ingredients, chemicals and harsh detergents.

Handmade soap however, completely incorporates and retains all of this natural glycerin, a major benefit in handmade soap. Glycerin attracts moisture to your skin and each bar of handmade soap you use is thereby providing your skin with more moisturizing properties than commercial soap. Also, handmade soaps which are blended with nature's own pure vegetable oils and butters, pure essential oils and organic botanicals. Black Licorice Handmade Vegan Soap
This sweet smelling essential oil smells just like black licorice. This is a wonderful soap for both Men and Women. Not only is this soap ideal for black licorice lovers, scientific research has shown that the scent of black licorice can increase arousal in men and women. Even those who aren't crazy about black licorice flavor find these sensuous suds irresistible. ( I used it in the shower this morning and I loved it. I have also added some new soaps in the last two weeks. New to my shop are...

Almond: A very real smelling almond - smooth and crisp. This scent is wonderful for both men and women.

Malachite: This scent is complex, layered, and inviting. This is a floral scent with key notes of Water Hyacinth, Imperial Peony, and Sandalwood.

Red Apple: This scent is actually a blend of a few varieties of Red Apple scents, along with some notes of Green Apple to temper the sweetness. The Green Apple notes add some wonderful depth and tartness to the scent.

The Upcoming New Year

Hi Everyone. It has been hectic the last few months with the new addition that has been added to our little family. We had a little boy on October 8, 2008. We now have two adorable sons. It has been wonderful but it has taken a little getting used to having a baby again. I am finally working out a schedule and starting to get things done again.

I have just added Pomegranate Black Currant to my soap line. It smells wonderful. I also added Gingersnap Pumpkin (also wonderful). I will be adding quite a few new scents to my soap line in the upcoming weeks such as Almond, Ginger Orange, Red Apple, and Winter Grapefruit.

Pomegranate Black Currant: This fragrance is based on a delicious juice that is found at many health food stores. This blend has tart Pomegranate notes, enlivened by citrus zest and intertwined with juicy Black Currant notes with just some light hints of soft florals and leafy greens to give the fragrance depth. It is a surprisingly sweet blend, almost as if the Pomegranates and Black Currants were sugared prior to blending.

Pumpkin Gingersnap: My Gingersnap Pumpkin soap will surround you in the comforting autumn scents of cinnamon, clove, cardamom and nutmeg wound around a delicious bottom of sweet vanilla and honey and brown sugar with an extra spark of Caraway Seed, to warm up and complement the spices.

Fall is officially here!!! Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love how the leaves change colors and the air grows crisp. On top of the fact that I love all of the fall scents.

I started making my fall soaps in August and have had a hard time keeping them on the shelf. Which makes me even more excited.

Pumpkin Spice: Like a visit to grandma's house at Thanksgiving, this Pumpkin Spice soap will surround you in the comforting autumn scents of cinnamon, clove, cardamom and nutmeg wound around a delicious bottom of sweet vanilla and honey and brown sugar.

Pumpkin Souffle: The delightful aroma of pumpkin mixed with creamy vanilla custard pudding and drenched with a creamy buttery caramel sauce, with a hint of cinnamon and spices!

Apple Jack and Peel: This smells just like the yummiest apple you have ever had the privilege of eating and then some. It has hot and spicy top notes of cinnamon and cloves rounding down to the mellow scent of red apples. Men love this one! It is especially popular during the fall and winter months when all anyone wants to do is cuddle up in front of the fire!

I will also be adding a few others in the coming weeks that I am sooooo excited about. They look as delicious as they smell and I can't wait to share them.

Cranberry Fig: An excellent compromise between the tart bite of Cranberries and the sweet, mild allure of Fig. Cranberries and Figs are made even more striking by adding a smattering of Blood Orange and Pink Grapefruit notes to the mix. (One of my new favs)

Almond Biscotti: This fragrance is positively edible! It is an amazing compilation of all things good, edible and coffee time! With a mixture of toasted almonds, sweet cake flour and drizzled chocolate, this fragrance will have you drooling and wanting to eat pastries! (Also one of my new favs)

Finally Coming Together

My new shop is finally starting to come together. I have been working on it all week. It is still not exactly were I would like it to be but I am thrilled that it has come so far. I posted some new soap listings and will have more to post next week. I am going to be adding Cocoa Mango soap and Oatmeal Milk and Honey soap in the next few days. I love the way they turned out. Here is a picture of the Cocoa Mango soap. The bottom half is a dark chocolate color and the top half is a swirl of chocolate and mango. It smells so delicious...

Venting!

I have recently embarked on separating my Etsy shop into two shops. I thought it would be just as easy to have two shops as it would one. Boy was I mistaken. Maybe it is because I am 25 weeks pregnant and have Gestational Diabetes. Who knows... But it has been harder than I thought it would be. I have been trying to re-do some of my soaps photos for the new shop. Nothing is coming out the way I would like it to. I know I can be a little picky at times. I think once I get all of my initial soaps moved over to the new shop it will not be so difficult. Okay, that's enough whining from me.

I have made quite a few batches of soap in the last week. I really like the way the swirl came out of my Love Spell soap.

Satsuma CP Soap

Finally my new Satsuma soap is off the drying racks. I tried a different look to the soap this time around. And I must say I am really pleased with the outcome. The bottom layer is a peach color with a cream colored swirl. The top layer is a cream color with chunks of the peach soap. I sent out the new bars today to customers. I can't wait to get some feedback on the new look. Tomorrow I will be re-batching my Love Spell soaps. I can't wait to get started...
